If only you had a Father like God!
		I John 3:1-7

Did you ever feel that all is wrong
	And that somehow you don't belong
That everyone seems to have a place
	But you belong to an alien race?

Did you ever feel,when hope is weak,
	That people think you are a freak
And that those who should understand
	Speak of you behind their hands?

Did you ever feel that life is a burden
	And you wished for the "final curtain,"
When you mom and dad are ashamed of you
	And you really donšt know what to do?

Did you ever wish for someplace somewhere
	Where folk around you will truly care
And if you should ever stumble and fall
	No one will notice it at all,

And none will turn their face away
	Or turn and walk the other way
Nor mention your name through gritted teeth?
	Perhaps it is beyond belief

That there is a place where you can belong,
	Where no one would think to do you wrong
Where the Father claims you as His own
	And loves you as if it were you alone

For which He offered up His precious Son!
	So that when all is said and done
You will find that it is better far
	To be called His son for you really are!
