Make Good Use Of History If you should ask the question Of a person just like me "Why should anyone study The facts of History?" I would say it might encourage You as you face each tomorrow If we take the time to remember How we made it through each sorrow. The problem with learning History Is, when we make each new decision, We may remember how it was back then And put limits on our vision. To see what God has done before, The miracles in the past, And not expect that He will do the same today Is a very hard thing to ask. So let us learn to trust in God To do what He knows best See the varied ways God Works And leave to Him the rest. You see, History can only tell us What God has done for man. It only tells us what God DID And never what He CAN. So trust Him for each tomorrow To keep you on your way For it always is the darkest Just before the break of day. This answers the question "Why did Jesus ask the question of the young man's father." MK 9:21 And the problem that Gideon had when he wanted God to work in his behalf. Pastor Van 5-17-97
