Don't Stop Making New Year's Resolutions! "Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow" The poet wrote one day. As if each new tomorrow Was just like yesterday. Well, a new Tomorrow is coming That will put an end to it all For at the stroke of midnight (And the dropping of the ball) It will be not just a new day But the starting of a year. As we face the century's penultimate That one might face it with fear. Or one may have hope and confidence As the year is newly born And greet each new tomorrow As God's blessed morn. Some say they'll make no resolution As in the days of yore Because they have kept none of them That they had made before. One need not make a resolution If one has reached perfection. Nor if in despair they find life Only worthy of rejection. But if you find life worth living, Possessed of some great hope Then a New Year's resolution Will help you be able to cope. So pledge that each new tomorrow You will endeavor to improve Until God calls you into His presence As from this life you move. Then should you miss your mark And not make it to perfection, You will still be much better off For moving in that direction. So don't give up on God Nor on yourself and others But try again to improve relations Between your sisters & brothers If "entropy" teaches us that Every thing tends to run down Then not to put up a struggle Will simply mean you will drown Thus, your New Year's Resolutions Will mean that you are alive And against the evil within or without You will continue to strive Make a New Year's Resolution Trusting in strength from above And know that success or failure You are still safe in God's love You see, it is good to set a goal, And to start to pack your grip Should you fail to reach your destination You can still enjoy the trip.
