MODERN BANKING Ecc. 12:1 I was thinking about that bank of yours, The very special one, That is not found in a building Nor any place beneath the sun. It has only one teller Who handles just one account. It's doors are never shut, so You can withdraw any amount. No thief can ever break into it Nor with officers clash. It can not be destroyed By any market crash. It has no Drive Up window Or ATM machine. It has no mail-in deposits Nor tellers that are green. However, you can not borrow from it Nor ever take out a loan. You can only make withdrawals From all the things you own. You are always making deposits, Every hour, night and day. Withdrawals, too, are in your power To help you along life's way. You may not choose what you deposit, Sometimes it is good or bad, Yet you can choose every withdrawal That makes you happy or sad. By now you have surely guessed it For it is very plain to see The bank that I am describing Is the one called memory. Now each time you make a withdrawal Remember take only the best For to dredge up things that are tragic Will keep us from our rest For God gave to us this special bank To have roses in December Try to keep only the roses And not the thorns remember Seek to recall the things that can help To put a song in your heart And remember now you creator It will give you a real head start. For the more of life that is behind us (I say this with regret) The more we have to remember The more we have to forget So remember all of Godıs blessings, His mercies ever knew. And keep all of the difficult things Down to only a few. Pastor Van November 8, 1997
