Mother’s Day, May 11, 2003 Missing You Mom! You miss your Mom in the Month of May, You miss your Mom on Mother’s Day. More so than on other days. You miss her deeply when she’s far away. You love her for the life she gave you, Her pain , tears and prayers helped save you From a life you did deserve. The faithful prayer, and worried nights, Watching out by dim porch lights, Concerns of safety, Still up late To hear the details of the newest date. I made you angry by things I did, Places I went, with a brand new kid, Or Wild influences, a crazy bunch, Wouldn’t amount to much, it was just your hunch. I made you angry, but you loved me so, You held me fast with your prayers to show That you knew one day the right way I would go To find the path of life you’d hoped I’d know.. I shared your sorrows, and bitterest grief, When the world was crushed by Satan the thief. He stole your joy, your hope and strength. He thought he’d won by some great length. But God was there waiting as you were for me, He’s waiting there now for me and thee. He’s carried our sins, our sons and brothers, Sisters, daughters, fathers and mothers. Our worries, and cares, and oh so much other… He takes them to heaven to place at God’s feet, Then helps us go on with the knowledge we’ll meet In heaven again, around God’s great throne. I’ll look for you there, Mom; I’m coming home! dkb
