NO LAUGHING MATTER She stood in the door of her tent To watch where the three men went. Her husband had made such a commotion It put in her head this strange notion She wanted to know who the men were. No one, it seemed, had confided in her. They asked her husband where she might be. "She's in the tent," he answered the three. She listened intently to their ever word She could not believe what she just heard "Before the year is over we wanted you to know That your wife will have a son, Do you believe it's so?" She even head her husbands words as he said, "She's passed the change, we are as good as dead." She thought the strangers were very strange maybe even mad. The laughter that she stifled was not because she was glad She hoped they had not heard her, but they did. What she had done she could not have hid, For when they asked her, she really, really tried "I never laughed!" with these words she lied. It was not a laughing matter. Her faith failed to consider The power of God. Her long, long wait had made her bitter. Sure, God can do any thing. Her husband had taught her so. They had tried. God had denied. That is all that she did know. So we, like her, find it hard (when we know what God can do) To believe that God will do what we need to see life through. For Satan's only lie we have heard until we believe it is true He says, "God does not care. He will keep His best from you." Now a Christian knows that it's not so and here is the reason why, God gave His best Who stood the test and for our sins He did die. So never doubt when God promises that he will look after you For God not only can but will always bring you through. "Pastor" Van, June 13,1999 gvs@idt.net ** (201)447-2130
