SOMEONE PRAYED FOR YOU

I am writing this so you can know
        And because it is really so
                As through this day you go
That someone prayed for you.

And this is what he did pray
        That if the skies be blue or gray
                That through the live long day
You may find God's love anew.

That you will smile at all you meet
        That each will know (that you greet)
                That a child of God so sweet
Has shown the love of God

That in your heart will be a song
        That can turn to right each wrong
                And do it the whole day long
As you walk upon this sod.

That should it be dark and raining
        And you energy be slowly draining
                You will never be complaining
For God is still your special friend.

And when this day is finally through
        And tomorrow dawns for us anew
                We will know just what to do --
Let Christ direct us until the end.
