THE PRESENT POWER OF RESURRECTION
                        Philippians 3:10

Would you like the power
        To change the darkest hour
                Into one that gives you perfect peace?
Jesus, the Bible said,
        For the joy that lay ahead
                By resurrection sought His soul's release.

For it is not the here and now
        That affects the soul somehow,
                That makes us sit around and mope.
It is what the future can bring
        That will make the heart to sing
                What we need right now is HOPE.

Thus in this life down here
        We have nothing now to fear
                No matter what the pain and sorrow.
For this life is but a second
        When eternity is reckoned
                As we await upon God's great tomorrow.

So let not your heart be weary
        Even though the day is dreary
                And there is no sun in your sky of gray.
Keep resurrection as you focus
        Then you need no "hocus pokus"
                To have God's sunshine now, this very day.

For it is HOPE that now saves us
        When the present here betrays us
                And we are tempted to complain.
For Jesus bore His own cross
        And what seemed to us as loss
                In Resurrection became a total gain.       Hebrews 12:2
