The Fool Has Said,"There Is No God" How many legs does a dog have? We gladly answer, "Four." But if we call his tail a leg Won't there be one more? "Of course not"we respond "Surely you must know, Changing the name, you see, Will not make it so!" Yet people play this silly game When talking about one's belief. They think that trying to convert Will only cause other's grief. Now in this great land of ours Is something so strange of late, For trying to win the lost to Christ Is now called a crime of "Hate!" Our Missionaries have always known it Where the Gospel is contested, But we never believed that it could be In our land we would be arrested. They think by calling evil good And what is good as bad, That they have made it to be so. Now isn't that quite sad? They say that our religion is an opinion It is only what we've believed And that there is no truth at all, Thus the masses are deceived. Yet there will soon be a tick of the clock That is different than any before For it will mean that the twentieth century Will truly be no more. And there is a beat in each human heart Just like all others we've known When God will declare that it is time To reap what we have sown. It matters not if one believes it For it must suddenly surely be That what one believes affects Where he will spend his eternity! For here I must reiterate That opinions can not change a fact And here are some of the facts That people seem to attack There is a God who gave His Son And raised Him from the dead And all will meet this Blessed One For this is what God said. You may believe it or you may not. It will not change the fact! But what you believe will change you And change the way you act. August 1, 1999 George H. Van Sandt
