To My Father

This is just a common day
        Quite like any of the others
But since they had a card day
        That was designated as Mothers

They put their heads together
        And in their clever way
They gave it a special title.
        They called it Father's Day.

And for no special reason
        We are supposed to recall
The one who caused us to be born,
        Who taught us to play ball.

So here is a special message
        To the one who caused our birth
To the greatest "Dad" we know
        The finest dad on earth.

May you find on this great day
        A reason to be glad
