Waiting Is Difficult But Necessary Isaiah 40:31 When I entered "Boot Camp" and they had shut the outer gate I learned the Navy motto of, "Hurry up and wait!" And so it is that I have found in Summer, Winter, Springtime or Fall That just having to wait is the most difficult task of all! Now when the Bible says that waiting (whatever the length) Will cause the tired and weary to regain their strength There must be a secret that most people do not know That must be mixed with waiting in this world of "Stop and Go." If all the time we are asked to wait we are "chaffing at the bit" We will not be the better for it, but we will want to quit. Since waiting means we can not move either forward or back Letıs use this time of waiting to learn how to relax. The reason we tire ourselves with anxiety when we need to wait Is that for some reason we fear we will soon be late. Yet if it is God that we are waiting on (both day and night) And, as we know, God has perfect timing fir He is always right. The strength that comes from waiting is not some "kind of talk" It comes in three forms; from flying, to running, to a walk. And the God who changes not is the author of all change So give the Lord your calendar for Him to rearrange. And since it seems that He has now put your life on hold Do not waist what strength you have but do as you are told. Do not rehash the past nor fear the future with its alarms But snuggle up to Jesus and rest in His mighty arms Knowing that Tomorrow will be better than today, If we let our Savior have His perfect way. So waiting can work within us giving us sweet rest Since we know that our God's way will always be the best. Pastor Van, July 20,1997
