What Do You Think About God? Psalm 50:21 God made us in His image That's how it all began. Now God is made, we believe, Into the image of man! The sinner thinks that God is like him Whenever he is sinning, For "Good" is always loosing And "Evil" is always winning. He blames God for his weakness Because God "...made him that way". The scientist says, "It is in the genes!" Thus, man sins day by day. Because man finds forgiveness Something that is hard to do He thinks that God, the great Forgiver, Can't forgive folk like me or you. And because those little people Are not worthy of making a fuss, We assume that God, like we do, Will never ever think of us. But let us learn from what God wrote Within His sacred book, To see REALITY as it really is And not the way it may look! For God, someday, we know, Will truly judge all sin. While He does love the sinner Evil will not FINALLY win. And He who made the universe Made the little sparrow too, And He who minds the little bird Will also care for you. Now, although we may sometimes find Our promises often hard to keep, And when we do fail others We may not find it hard to sleep. Then when we hear what God has promised, We think He will do what we have done And so we cannot trust His promises. He may not keep a single one. Or when we think of other people (We don't mean to be unkind) Yet we avoid those we meet Who look strange or are sick or blind. Then we think that God, like we, Will feel as we often do And He will fail to stay with us All our whole lives through. Thank God that He is not like we are But good and perfect and true, And He will keep His promises As only a God can do! gvs@idt.net 2/7/99 http://idt.net/~gvs/
