When Jesus Did Not Answer She must have heard He was coming. He was nearer than He ever had been. She tried so hard to see Him, He would never be that close again. (The disciples refrain) "Oh send her away, Lord Jesus, She is making an awful fuss. Send her away, Lord Jesus, She is always bothering us." Her heart must have froze as she looked Into those eyes that searched her face. She must have felt that all hope was gone, She felt like she would never find grace. Refrain Hope held on by a slender thread As she heard the words that He said, "I can not even think of giving to a dog A piece of the children's bread." Refrain Did they hear her as she answered (Her daughter was still sick in bed), "I do not ask for even a piece Little dogs eat crumbs from the bread" Refrain He looked at His disciples With amazement as He tried to tell, "Here I have seen so much faith, More than in the children of Israel!" How many have been like those disciples When, kids that disturbed the service Came seeking Jesus for salvation Do they cry (for they really are nervous) Refrain Yet Jesus said not to the children, "I have no time for you now" But He took them up in his arms And He changed the refrain somehow (Our new refrain) "Oh send them not away Lord Jesus It is true that they make a fuss Don't send them away, Lord Jesus For they're like the rest of us!"
