WORKING NIGHTS FOR GOD When the night hours are swiftly passing And sleep seems far away And your twisting, tossing and turning Dreading the dawn of another day, Have you ever tried too hard to sleep While your mind is wide awake And you can not seem to just relax No matter what you take? You even ask God to intervene And to let you finally rest For tomorrow you will face That truly dreaded test. Sometimes, when this happens At the close of a wearisome day, You may find that God has a desire That you take the time to pray. Pray for those you know may need it And for others far and near. Pray for nations that are warring And for the problems that you fear. Pray for the victory that you are seeking Over some besetting sin. Pray for others that you may not know Who are trying hard to win. Now it may not cause the sleep to come Which you find has been delayed But you will have helped to make life better For those for whom you prayed. by Pastor Van October 25, 1997 at the end of Daylight Savings time
